Material Handling
Material Handling Supplier in Atlanta, GA
Pallet rack, shelving, mezzanines and modular offices for Atlanta warehouses. Designed, permitted, delivered and installed.
Warehouse Equipment for Atlanta, GA
I-20, I-75, I-85 and the I-285 perimeter feed warehouse clusters in every direction. Georgia's inland ports at Crandall and Gainesville rail-bridge cargo to Savannah.
We handle the whole job rather than just selling the steel. Design, permitting, material, installation and, when the time comes, relocation. Stein is a licensed general contractor, so one company carries the project from the drawing through the final inspection.

What We Supply
Storage
Pallet Rack Systems
Selective, drive-in, push-back and cantilever. New rack in stock plus a used yard for the sizes where used makes more sense.

Hand-stack and pick-module shelving for parts, cartons and small goods that never see a forklift.

Mezzanines
Adding a floor is usually cheaper than adding a building. Mezzanines carry their own permitting and egress requirements, and we handle those.

Where We Work
Where the Warehouses Are in Atlanta, GA
The metro is usually split into submarkets, and four of them matter most for racking.
I-20 West and Fulton Industrial
West of the city, largely in unincorporated Fulton County and the City of South Fulton. The deepest stock of older bulk warehouse in the metro.
Northeast Atlanta
The I-85 North corridor through Gwinnett, which has been the market's demand engine, with nearly 13 million square feet leased in 2025.
The airport and south metro
College Park, East Point, Union City and Fairburn, pulled by Hartsfield-Jackson air cargo and the CSX intermodal ramp at Fairburn.
I-75 South into Henry County
McDonough, Stockbridge and Locust Grove, the newest big-box belt. Ryder built a 44 million dollar distribution center at Locust Grove, and NewCold's cold-chain facility is the largest single investment in Henry County's history.
Permitting
Permits in the City of Atlanta
Inside the city, building permits come from the Office of Buildings within the Department of City Planning. Fire authority sits with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department's Office of the Fire Marshal.
The city code is direct about it. Atlanta makes it unlawful to construct or alter any commercial building without construction document approval from the fire chief or a designee, so fire sign-off is not optional or an afterthought.
One local step that catches people on greenfield sites: if the project may affect trees, an arborist meeting has to be scheduled and completed before you submit.
Under the International Fire Code you need a permit once a building holds more than 500 square feet of high-piled combustible storage, and high-piled means the top of the load sits above 12 feet. That covers most pallet rack projects. The code itself is the same in every jurisdiction, but the forms you file and the reviewer who reads them change from one county to the next.
- Storage with the top of the load above 12 feet, whether rack, shelving or floor-stacked piles
- More than 500 square feet of high-piled storage area
- Combustible commodities, counting the carton and the wood pallet, not just the product
- A new tenant or a change of use in an existing building
The bigger point is that the authority changes the moment you cross out of the city, into unincorporated Fulton, South Fulton, Union City, Fairburn or Henry County. Most big-box space is out there. Used Equipment
We Buy and Sell Used Rack Too
Not every job needs new steel. We keep a used yard in Charlotte and sell out of it across the country, usually at a third to half off new. Kyle Austin runs that side and can tell you what is on the ground today.
It works the other way as well. If you are closing a Atlanta warehouse, relocating, or clearing out rack you no longer need, we buy it. Small quantities and large ones, and our crew does the removal.
Buy Used Rack
Beams, uprights and wire decks out of our own yard, inspected before they ship. Used pallet rack in Atlanta
Sell Us Your Rack
We buy rack in every style, and we take small and large quantities. Send Kyle the type, the sizes and a rough count and he will come back with a number. Sell us your pallet rack
