Safety Rail

Safety rail is a very important product when it comes to protecting people and equipment in your warehouse. If you have a facility that has offices, workstations, machinery, or walkways with a lot of forklift traffic, safety rail is for you. It can drastically improve safety and efficiency in the warehouse, and save you money that would have been used for repairs, insurance, and injury due to accidental collisions.

Safety rail can be used in many different applications, and to section off different areas in your space. It can protect walls or machinery, or block a walkway for employees. If you have a modular office or open work space in your warehouse, safety rail is often used to protect those working from forklift collisions. Safety rail is available with removable rails as well. These are used in situations when you have equipment or machinery that you need to protect but also sometimes need access to. In those cases, you can slide the rail out to gain access to what is inside.

Standard post sizes are 18 inches and 42 inches. It can be two tier (with two rails) or just one tier. Two tier safety rail is usually used when offices and people are involved. The rails are available in most increments up to 12 feet long, and can withstand impacts up to a 10,000 pound load at 6 miles per hour. There are straight posts and corner posts depending on your layout, and the posts and rails are sold separately.

If you are thinking of getting safety rails for your warehouse, your material handling dealer would need to know a few things to be able to quote you. Do you need one or two tier rails? What is the basic layout of your warehouse and what do you want sectioned off? What is the size of the area? If you provide this information, your dealer would be able to let you know the sizes you need and help you with the ideal design.

We stock safety rail in our warehouse and would be happy to talk with you about your needs. Contact us for more information about safety products and safety rail.
